A Letter from Dr. Miranda Ming Team Members and Families, Our community sends our thoughts to the families of all impacted by the situation at SLPS Central Performing and Visual Arts this morning. Momentum Team Members and scholars are safe and we will continue to monitor our own campuses and the situation at the SLPS school. We remain committed to supporting our scholars and community through this tragedy. Momentum believes that every family deserves a safe, loving, and supportive space to learn. We remain committed to this vision and will partner in efforts across the region to support the wellbeing of our community. To ensure our scholars are supported to process, grieve, and connect with one another, the following will be available beginning Tuesday, October 25th-Friday, October 28th: – Support Sessions led by Lutheran Family Counselors will be offered to scholars needing a space to process – School Resources Officers will be on site to connect and ensure all stakeholders feel safe – Each campus will review and practice the active shooter safety protocols We stand with our neighbors in affirming our families’ right to a safe and loving school community. Respectfully, Miranda Ming, Ph.D Executive Director Momentum Academy
