FAQs What athletics teams are offered at Momentum Academy? Momentum Academy offers a variety of athletic opportunities for our scholars including: 3rd/4th grade basketball (co-ed) 5th-8th grade girls’ basketball and boys’ basketball K-1st, 2nd/3rd, 4th/5th grade soccer for boys and girls 6-8th grade girls’ volleyball 3rd-5th grade girls on the run 3rd-8th grade girls dance and poms squad Our elementary athletics are run through the YMCA and our Upper Academy athletics teams are part of the St. Louis City Charter School Athletics League. What is the school day schedule? Our academic school day is from 8:00am-3:15pm, Monday-Thursday, and from 8:00am-2:00pm on Fridays. Breakfast is available each day from 7:30am-8:15am. How is the Upper Academy structured at Momentum Academy? Our Upper Academy, or Middle School, includes 6th through 8th grade. Each campus has content area teachers for math, english language arts, science, and social studies. The Upper Academy scholars also participate in both art and physical education class multiple times each week. We also offer High school application(s) assistance Does Momentum Academy provide transportation to and from school? Momentum Academy does not currently provide transportation for our scholars. Transportation assistance may be available, on an as-needed basis, for our families who are experiencing homelessness, or personal crisis. Families may contact us to see if they qualify for transportation assistance. What clubs does Momentum host? Momentum Academy also hosts a number of clubs for scholars including: Girl Scouts Robotics Club Chess Club Student Council Are the scholars required to wear a uniform? What is the uniform? All scholars are required to wear a school uniform consisting of navy blue pants, shorts, or skirt and a Momentum Academy polo shirt. Our elementary-age scholars wear a purple polo shirt, while our upper academy scholars wear a white polo shirt. Scholars should wear solid color shoes and may wear sweaters or sweatshirts in solid, school colors. We require our scholars to wear a uniform to help keep their focus on their academic tasks. Our uniforms unite us as a school community and promote school unity.
