These hoax threats may seem like a joke to some, but they are causing significant disruption and trauma, leading to serious consequences for those responsible. As highlighted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI, law enforcement can quickly trace the origin of these threats, and those found responsible—whether minors or adults—are being held accountable. For juveniles, this could mean detention, school suspension, or expulsion. Adults face even harsher penalties, including lengthy prison sentences.
