8/2/2024 After years of searching for a cohesive after-care solution for all enrolled families, Momentum Academy is thrilled to announce the launch of the Panther Club, a comprehensive after-school program at our Gravois Park location. Funded by the Missouri Comprehensive Afterschool Learning (MOCAL) grant, the program will be available at no cost to families and will operate Monday through Friday until 6:00 pm. Panther Club: Nurturing Excellence and Community The Panther Club is designed to offer a holistic experience focusing on academic excellence, character development, and community engagement. Our mission is to provide enriching activities and support services that nurture scholars’ academic and personal growth. The program centers on three core components: Academic Enrichment: We provide rigorous academic support, particularly in reading, math, and science, to help scholars meet Missouri Learning Standards. Personalized tutoring and resources are available for those needing extra help. Youth Development and Service Learning: Through extracurricular activities and clubs, scholars can explore cultural experiences, health education, and community service. These opportunities help them develop leadership skills and build meaningful relationships. Family Engagement: We offer workshops and support services to empower parents in their children’s educational journey. By collaborating with families, we aim to foster a strong, supportive community. Community Partnerships Panther Club’s success is bolstered by partnerships with local organizations, ensuring a well-rounded program. New City Fellowship of STL provides nourishing meals to address food insecurity. The Institute of Reading Development and Lavinia Group enhance our academic services, while Intersect Arts offers cultural enrichment. Places for People supports parent engagement, creating a comprehensive support network for scholars and their families. Targeted Support and Unique Features Our program prioritizes scholars who are at risk of falling behind academically or socially. We focus on those with attendance issues, behavioral challenges, and lack of access to quality programs. By bringing scholars from all campuses to a single location, Panther Club fosters a sense of unity and provides a centralized hub for resources and growth. Goals and Outcomes Our objectives are clear: improve academic performance, enhance attendance, and reduce behavioral incidents. We aim to decrease the percentage of scholars scoring below basic in the MAP assessment by 10%, improve attendance rates, and reduce behavior-related interruptions to learning by 10%. Join Us Nicole Lampert, our Director of Compliance and Federal Programs, states, “I knew our families deserved a well-rounded after-school program aligned with Momentum Academy’s Mission, Vision, and Values. After many years of working on grant opportunities, Panther Club is set to fulfill that vision.” We invite interested families to apply for enrollment in the Panther Club. Additionally, we are seeking dedicated staff members to join our team. For more information and to apply, please visit our website.
