Families with new sibling scholars may also submit applications for enrollment at this time. New families may submit applications for our lottery beginning October 1, 2025,and our enrollment lottery is held at the beginning of March. Once our lottery is complete, open enrollment is available for any remaining seats at all three Momentum Academy campuses. We encourage all of our new Momentum families to complete their enrollment process by the end of May so they are able to participate in all of our spring and summer family events and engagement activities. More Important Dates Enrolling Family Siblings and family member scholars receive preference during the enrollment process. For the convenience of the families, our priority is to ensure that scholars are able to attend the same Momentum campus as their siblings. Families are encouraged to submit enrollment applications for new sibling scholars in February when we begin re-enrollment for current scholars. We also provide short-term virtual learning for scholars/with Covid-19 or other major illnesses. How do I know if my scholar’s application has been accepted? Families will be contacted by email through our SchoolMint enrollment system. They will receive confirmation that we have received their application. They will also receive notice when their scholar is offered a seat at one of our Momentum Campuses. Does Momentum Academy provide transportation to and from school? Momentum Academy does not currently provide transportation for our scholars. Transportation assistance may be available, on an as-needed basis, for our families who are experiencing homelessness, or personal crisis. Families may contact us to see if they qualify for transportation assistance. Why does Momentum Academy have a shortened school day on Fridays? We have a shortened schedule on Fridays to accommodate weekly teacher and staff professional development. Our staff members receive additional training and development each week and are also given the opportunity to collaborate with their colleagues during that time. How large are the class sizes at Momentum Academy? What is the student/teacher ratio? At Momentum Academy, our goal is to ensure that each scholar in the classroom is given access to excellent learning opportunities. Our instructional model allows for a student/teacher ratio of approximately 20:1 for core subjects in Lower Academy and up to 25:1 for Upper Academy. This model also provides time for individualized practice using blended learning programs. If we experience an increase in class size, TAs may be brought in to assist teachers. Are Momentum scholars provided with technology to use at school? Yes! All Momentum scholars are provided with a school Chromebook which they use during class to participate in blended-learning and supplemental reading and math programs. Our upper academy (middle school age) scholars also use their school Chromebooks for academic research and to complete their homework assignments.
